Review of The Legend of Tarzan (2016) by Emily S — 30 Dec 2016
I love this movie and not sure why the critics rag on it so much. It has a great story line, the characters are interesting, and I love the beautiful way it depicts the relationship human beings can have with wild animals in the right circumstances.
My favorite scenes were when Tarzan greets the lions he grew up with, interactions with his ape mother, and when he encounters the elephants. Jane had pizazz and held her own and Samuel L. Jackson's character provoded comic relief and warmth.
Alexander did well portraying the social awkwardness a man who grew up in a jungle would have but he was a little stiff. I would have liked to see him loosen up a bit. Still overall it was an excellent movie with amazing special effects, a lovely romance, a good dose of humor, and an excellent villian who was easy to dislike!!!
