Review of The Legend of Tarzan (2016) by Threeboxindoors — 22 Dec 2016
One of my least favourite characters in The Legend Of Tarzan, is Tarzan himself. My favourite character would be George Washington Williams, played by Samuel L. Jackson, enough said. While his comic relief did take away from the tension at times, he does however provide the most if not all of the movies entertainment, because the story is uninteresting and cheesy for a movie that takes itself too seriously, the pacing is sluggish, the action scenes are poorly shot with obnoxious shaky cam and incomprehensible fast editing that made them irritating and unsatisfying to watch, and the characters are generic and bland.
Leon Roms, although very well acted by Christoph Waltz, is a very weak and unmemorable villain. Nothing about this film screams "Go see it!". No one will remember this movie. Is it bad? I wouldn't say so, although I was bored for most of the entire runtime.
There isn't anything you could look at in this film and say is awful, but I would say it's a slightly-below-average movie. There isn't anything to miss out on here. The Legend Of Tarzan gets a 4 out of 10.
It's slightly below average.
