Review of The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) by Dave S — 08 Dec 2009
A seriously dated, sincerely enjoyable, and overall just plain sincere 80s teen movie about a band of vigilantes-turned-folk-heroes. The scene for the time capsule may be when Helen Slater first emerges with her bad girl haircut and modified bodysuit, but for sheer 80s factor I'm kind of partial to the moment of her with a side braid, coveralls, and a Debbie Gibson hat being chased up the down escalator at a mall while "Rebel Yell" plays on the soundtrack.
Glorious. Splits the difference between "Times Square" and "Pee Wee's Big Adventure".
