Review of The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000) by Lyndon G — 19 Dec 2007
This was supposed to be quite awful, and I didn't know that going in, and I enjoyed it. I usually like Will Smith. It's the kind of movie worth watching if it shows up on TV, because it isn't typical, and while it's sort of cheap and sentimental, it scores a coup by making golf watchable.
The character development is perhaps more than a little trite, but I left the cinema with a good feeling, and I am perfectly capable of being cynical. So--I didn't regret seeing it by any means.
