Review of The Lavender Hill Mob (1951) by Paul C — 17 May 2010
An intelligent black comedy and crime caper, "The Lavender Hill Mob" is appealing and extremely likeable. Alec Guinness steals the show with his comic performance as Holland, the shy bank employee.
An interesting point is that the story is told in flashback, with Holland in South America remembering the details of his past.
