Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Kody N — 15 Feb 2008
Willem Dafoe carries the role of Jesus to perfection in one of Scorsese's best movies. This is not a religion-movie, but about man, life, that sort of stuff. Very well told story, that ties in some of the apocryphal stories at the end to great success.
One of the strongest, most moving scenes is when John the Baptist turns around abruptly to face Jesus and says accusingly "Who are you?". There are many strong scenes. Excellent photography, and a simply fantastic soundtrack by Peter Gabriel!
