Christ's (and Judas's!) passion presented with much more imagination, honest dedication, subtlety and spirituality than Gibson's godly-beating, faith-enforced-through-guilt flick can ever hope to achieve.

It's also one of the movies which can stand next to its literary source without (much?) embarrassment. A very interesting choice of actors, too, especially for the roles of Jesus and Judas - it, or rather the movie on the whole, quite effectively breaks the molds so frequently offered to us through all the overproduced Hollywood films with the same or similar theme.
