Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Jess K — 14 Oct 2010
Now this here is what I call a true Masterpiece!. Martin Scorsese's - The Last Temptation of Christ Surrounds the Bible, God and the life of Jesus in a way I never thought id see on screen., In this Movie You follow Jesus as a Man and the Struggle he went through in his life, Plus when he was put up on the Cross,-and How the " DEVIL " tried to imitate People that represented "GOD" so Jesus would follow the "DEVIL" and his routes. Apparently this film isint 100% accurate to the Bible itself as there are a few added things in this Film that arent even in the Bible, But since I never really new anything about the Bible in the first place, Scorsese still made every point and aspect in this film extremely believable and extremely well Put-Together, anybody that didnt No the story of Christ would probably think this is the Full and honest True Story of his Life.
To some People the Bible, Jesus, God and all that probably wont interest them, all I can say is that I felt the exact same way about this film before seeing it. Like I said at the top of the review is that I never thought I would ever See a Film Like this that I would actually enjoy, But Scorsese made this very enjoyable, The Script was Top-Notch and very easy to understand, he didnt have so Much talking and talking about the Bible that would make You loose concentration, everything that was said was Meaningful and all well Put together and thats what made it Interesting to Me.
Another thing I loved in this Film was Scorsese's Directing, It focused on anyhing and everything that was Important, Plus the Atmosphere potrayed in this Film looked like it came staright from the Bible, and it even felt like this Film could of been made in the Times of Jesus and the Bible.
"The Last Temptation of Christ" is a very long Movie, I think it clocks around three Hours, but the thing is that it didnt feel like three Hours, and the reason why I think that is because I was entertained the entire time.,- There was something always going on and something Interesting to look at. Scorsese did a marvelous Job in this Film, I actually think this is his most Powerful Film that hes ever done, it is a Masterpiece and One of the "BEST" Films ive ever watched.
PUT IT LIKE THIS- If You are a Christian/Or if You Know the Bible, or Interested to know about the Bible, than Watch this Film because it truly does make You want to know More about the Life of Jesus as soon as the Film Starts., Tho not everybody will enjoy this Film, especially if You are a fan of films like "Transformers" and Movies that lack detail on Plot and Interesting Storylines, and if You are One of those Poeple that just like watching Simple Movies and just want to go along for a ride and a Good Time, well Yeah You probably wont find that shit in this Film.- Unless You are Like Me and watch Films that are Powerful, Imaginative and Meaningful, than this is the Film that You have to Watch.
RATING-MASTERPIECE.
