Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Alexander P — 22 Jan 2012
A compelling tale unfolding the mysterious circumstances and satanic occurrences in the life of a common man, forcibly crowned as Messiah have affectionately been exhibited on the screen with no accounts to conceal.
The genuine mind's eye of Martin Scorsese, in the course of displaying his pristine conviction to Jesus, arrives at a paradigm that concludes the duality or the constant struggle everyman must confront on his voyage towards Kingdom of God.
.. The temptations, Christ steadily encountered and escaped(?) are literally waved in this picture.... It eschews the audience attention meandering away across the sham preachings, revolving around his life, caricaturing him as a "son of god".
.. at this particular stage one cannot fail to figure out the gripping commitment the director had dedicated from the bottom of his heart...
