Review of The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) by Matt C — 25 Apr 2012
Willem Dafoe...he is the king of the yiddos. A powerful film albeit not as good as I remembered it to be. Harvey Keitel is fantastic in the role of Judas and Bowie delivers a supreme performance in his all too brief cameo as Pontius Pilate, Dafoe.
..hmmmmm...not so taken with his JC. I haven't read the book but bizarrely the film loses its way the most when we move to the 'Last Temptation' section and the conclusion feels rushed and a bit of a cop-out.
There are some fantastic compositions though and the soundtrack in particular feels spot on.
