Review of The Last of Sheila (1973) by Jemiah J — 12 Feb 2008
This is another movie I saw on KVOS TV 12 back in the day and later acquired it on VHS and then on DVD. Its an old-fashioned 1930's murder mystery updated to the "me generation" 1970s. Actor Anthony Perkins and composer Stephen Sondheim were real-life game players and mystery fanatics and combined their mutual interest in this unpredictable script.
I was blown away by this film when I first watched it, a real forgotten gem from the seventies. The actors all play shallow Hollywood types with hidden secrets, but who is the killer?
