Review of The Last Detail (1973) by Geoff C — 21 Oct 2009
This was made to be a political film, but I found it to just be a coming of age story against a political back drop. I didn't get it the first time I saw it, (As is what often happens when I watch a Has Ashby film) The second time I saw it I decided it was something to be cherished.
On the most obvious level, we witness the maturity of Randy Quaid's characters, but we see the gradual disillusionment of the two romantics (Nicholson and Young) which could be considered a maturity process.
