A great British film from Alfred Hitchcock. It was one of the last he did in Britain and has all the markings of his great Directorial style. This was the film that helped him get to Hollywood. It is very British and incorporates classic Brit humor.
The people are very reserved and stiff-upper lip and all that but a great mystery/thriller is at the core of it all. Lockwood and Redgrave have great chemistry and are supported by a superb cast, notibly the great Dame May Whitty.
Hitchcock masterfully uses his talent to create another suspensful film with his classic psychological twists thrown in. Along with The 39 Steps this is considered his best British film and it shows. Hitch provides us with a mysterious, yet entertaining comedy-thriller that set the mark for what would come from him.
While the plot can be figured out by those looking it is stil the ride we take that makes this so worth the watch.
