Review of The Lady from Shanghai (1947) by Jessica — 22 Jun 2006
Possibly, at the same level as Gilda in quality, performance, and dialogue. This film is a little harder to follow though. One must be on the ball to keep up. But I was bowled over by this picture. Hayworth and Welles are to their usual standard, and with the added talent of Everett Sloans creepy performance, this one's a winner.
