Review of The Lady Eve (1941) by Dustin G — 24 Jul 2011
Frustrating but pretty enjoyable little comedy from Preston Sturges, starring Henry Fonda (great, as usual) as a gullible sap who falls for a conwoman out to get a chunk of his family's beer (I mean Ale) fortune.
It's fluff, the comedy is dated and the extreme gullibility of Fonda's character is annoying and completely unbelievable. But it still emits a certain kind of charm and enough entertainment to make for a decent watch.
