Review of The Lady (2011) by Jason W — 03 Mar 2012
This was an amazing film which portrayed, beyond her political struggles, Aung San Suu Kyi's personal struggles as a daughter, mother and wife. In fact, as one will see from the film, these two different set of struggles are perhaps closely intertwined.
Also, little snippets and details were injected into the film that gave it a great sense of authenticity throughout.
And if I may, I will like to end this short review with a quote from Gandhi: "When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it: always".
