Review of The King of Marvin Gardens (1972) by Marko S — 16 Aug 2009
The movie is worth watching because of the photography, brilliantly handled by laszlo kovacs, and the setting of atlantic city small time double-crosser, his brother, his wacked girlfriend and her daughter, together with a badass oldschool crime boss.
character studies are well done (one of the brothers is too daring to be a businesman, or a cheater, and the other one is too calculated to be an artist), and follows the line of five easy pieces. but, the film is so chamber, talky, and eventually could be boring.
thank god that jack saves the day.
