Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Ignacio L — 18 Jul 2011
Oh, wow, I'm stuck. I have just witnessed the definitive "nothing special" film. It's such a bland, nearly impossible to discuss film and even though there's little to it, it's still flawed. The film suffers from a lack of development, overdrawn scenes and slowness. Still, its worst crime is that it is just so bland, with nothing really commendable aside from De Niro's simply above average performance. The film isn't bad, it's - once again - just so bland.
In the end, "The King of Comedy" has little material to work with and simply sits as neither good nor bad, just the epidemy of average.
