Review of The King of Comedy (1982) by Joel H — 07 Feb 2018
The King of Comedy is strange, but I guess that's what happens when you have Martin Scorsese directing a film with a more humorous tone. Robert De Niro is absolutely irritating as the persistent Rupert Pupkin, and yet it's his performance that drives the film forward.
And who knew that Jerry Lewis could play the straight man in a comedic movie?
