Review of The King and I (1956) by Jordan K — 27 Sep 2011
I understand this movie is classic, but if you watch it today you would think it's pretty boring, as proved in a music class where I saw it. An English teacher, Anna, goes to Siam to tutor the king's many (Many, many, many, many, many.
...) children, but it starts off with The King as a strict man to a passioniate man who loves Anna. Now I was around 10 or 11 when I first saw this and I hated it...I still kinda do. Mainly because I am definetely not the music man.
It is still kind of boring, though. I have no choice but to laugh at Yul Brenner's "Exc, exc, exc" phrase. Not too good in my opinion, mainly because I am a silly and animated movie lover.
