Review of The Killers (1946) by Dustin G — 25 Mar 2007
Ernest Hemingway's The Killers is a 1946 film noir detective story about two professional killers who invade a small town and kill a gas station attendant, "the Swede," who's expecting them. Insurance investigator Reardon pursues the case against the orders of his boss, who considers it trivial. Weaving together threads of the Swede's life, Reardon uncovers a complex tale of treachery and crime, all linked with gorgeous, mysterious Kitty Collins.
Having 1946 film quality, the film is more than entertaining. One of the best film noir movies out there, I say. I'd be an idiot not to put it on my top 5. I really can't tell you much about films I really love, so let's just leave it at: "Amazing movie.".
