Review of The Killers (1946) by Nate W — 01 Apr 2011
The Killers: Criterion Collection (1947) is a well-crafted and inventive story. It features all of the great elements of noir, but also adds a depth of story-telling that really makes the film interesting.
The story is told in a backwards fashion, with each character adding to the Swede's story (slightly similar to "Memento" in creativity). The characters are rich and the acting is superb.
The Criterion edition is a great looking copy of this landmark film. It's as fresh and relevant as when it was first shown.
