Review of The Killers (1946) by Ralph R — 25 Mar 2008
A perfect film. Nothing in this "Film Noir" is out of place, and is worth seeing by anyone who loves great films. Elwood Bredell's Cinematography is a big a star in this film as the actors, and they are excellent also.
Funny bit of trivia....Director Richard Siodmak was not the first choice to direct this...Don Siegal was. The reason I mention this is that in 1964 Siegal shot a remake of this for a TV Movie that got released in theaters.
The Criterion Collection has both versions in a 2 disc DVD set.
