Review of The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) by Katie S — 09 Feb 2008
Definitely hit or miss. I wasn't a huge fan of A Fistful of Yen and there were a few other sketches that fell flat for me. But there was a lot of really funny stuff in this movie. "Danger Seekers" had the biggest laugh for me and I'm laughing even as I think about it.
"A.M Radio", "Feel-a-round", "That's Armageddon", Catholic High School Girls in Trouble", "Sex Record", "Cleopatra Schwartz" and the last sketch ( I cannot remember its name) were all really really funny.
I can not believe some of the stuff in this movie. Its odd and kind of awesome that 31 years later some of this stuff is more shocking than anything i've seen or know of being in recent comedies. The difference is that the raunchiness in this actually succeeds in being funny.
It's pretty cool when a movie made 31 years ago can upstage recent so called "raunchy" comedies (excluding Apatow's stuff) in being sick and in top of that, good.
