Review of The Keep (1983) by Jarett B — 31 May 2011
2.6.2011.
An incomprehensible mess. I wonder where Michael Mann lost his talent. He includes some nice visual touches, there's a nice shot of a boat in a sunset and Tangerine Dream provides a suitable score. Nazis and gothic horror, a hero coming all the way from Greek for no apparent reason (unless Mann really wanted to have his shot of the aforementioned boat) and some mumbo-jumbo I didn't really understand. Since Mann hasn't returned to supernatural horror, I can only guess he didn't really understand it either. Or just thought he couldn't do it.
