Review of The Keep (1983) by Olivier G — 08 Feb 2012
Michael Mann's first feature, unfortunately butchered by the studio, only leaves you wondering what could have been the intended 3 hour cut. Despite its narrative flaws and weak ending, the film's atmosphere works out pretty well and Mann's characteristic visual style is already here.
Its cult status (emphasized by its rarity, Mann refusing to make it available) is no fraud.
