Let's be honest: Jaden Smith is going to be a great actor, as much as his father is, and in this case it's no offense to say that he is ways better than Ralph Macchio from the original movie. At least Jaden looks athletic!
This new Karate Kid movie is the right transposition of a classic to the contemporary cinema: the feelings are deeper, the tones are more solemn and everything looks "more serious", compared to the teen movies of the 80s'.
Changing the setting to real China is one of the added value of this movie, together with Jackie Chan which is a great intepreter (and it was not easy to play the role of the majestic Master Miyagi).
Overall quite convincing, entertaining, with spectacular views of China and really good characters/actors. Go Jaden!
