Review of The Karate Kid (2010) by Ashley A — 03 Mar 2012
A nice movie.
MPAA Rating: PG.
Runtime: 140 minutes.
Tagline:
A Challenge He Never Imagined. A Teacher He Never Expected.
Plot:
When a single mom has to move to China due to work, her young son (Jaden Smith) embraces Kung Fu to get back at the bullies in his school. What he did not expect was an unlikely teacher in the apartment maintenance man (Jackie Chan).
Plus:
A good story with touching moments and a nice family movie.
Minus:
Unfortunately the movie is too long and there is not enough action scenes. Also, the entire story could off course be considered as a cliche.
Overall:
Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, but don't expect anything spectacular and you should be ok.
