Visually, it's amazing and for the most part, I liked it. Murray was great and I really enjoyed Neel Sethi as Mowgli. Idris Elba as Shere Khan didn't work as well with me, not sure why, really.
The plot is VERY simple, which is great for the kids, but I kinda expected more. And the songs, although classics no doubt, are just forced and corny here. As weird as it would be to see a Jungle Book remake without "The Bare Necessities" .
...it might have been for the best. I think it's definitely worth a watch, but the overly simple plot left me wanting more. I'm kinda interested in seeing the Andy Serkis/Warner Bros. version in a few years as a comparison, hopefully it'll be a little darker.
