Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by Greg R — 22 May 2018
The Jungle Book is a 2016 American fantasy adventure film directed and produced by Jon Favreau.
This fantasy adventure gets off to a slow start with a thin plot, but the intensity does build at the end. The live action/CGI works brilliantly, and it is hard to see where one ends and the other begins. The film is an interesting mix of the old with the new, though for me I would have preferred that the songs and the modern-day attempts at comedy had been left out. I also found Kingsley's voice to be far too low and muffled. Overall it is the special effects that carries this film along.
1001.
