Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by Jarody — 22 Apr 2016
The jungle book is, honestly, a film as great as the original and it wouldn't surprise me if it was nominated for an Oscar. The CGI is fantastic, and the voice acting is unbelievably good. Out of all the remakes I've seen it is the most different and original piece of cinema based off of something already created.
I have to give credit to the child actor as well, considering he was alone on a green screen. The characters are all likeable, and the drama and action could stand up to the action of batman vs stupidman.
. I mean superman. However, while the movie itself is perfect, there is one problem. This movie DEFINETLY had the wrong rating. I understand why it was rated PG, because it is generally a kids movie, but at times it can be quite scary and dark.
If I wasn't in a busy cinema I wouldn't have brought up this point but the cinema I was in was packed, and the main audience were under 5 years. There were even babies in there. BABIES. This movie was amazing but it shouldn't be a PG, but again, people would have complained if it was 12 rated.
In the end the movie was fantastic and the ratings problem wont affect my score of 10. I just feel bad I had a mini rant in a review of a film this good.
