Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by John H — 10 Sep 2016
Never got swept up in it. The CGI and green screens are so distracting and I really don't agree with the effects being amazing. Beyond that the animals can be distracting because of the big names voicing them.
Also I never felt a connection to any of them or their relationship with Mowgli, there's not a single compelling character in the entire movie. We don't spend a significant amount of time with anyone to really feel anything.
It moves along from scene to scene as we come across the various classic characters and it just feels so set up and pieced together. I'm really scratching my head on this one, not impressed at all.
