Review of The Jungle Book (2016) by Arun K — 28 Jul 2017
A child cheerfully running with all his might through thick vegetation is as unique an image of freedom as any. All the more in company of talking carnivores. Animals following law looks knive, but that may not be the movies problem as much as how humans relate to law.
Mowglis innocence, animals speaking with voices of hollywood stars and special effects which bind them all together make it a treat to watch. Red flower and intelligence might have taken man very far away from the forest.
But this movie (and ofcourse the book) reminds that he is just a small boy in a jungle and may still find himself.
