Review of The Italian Job (1969) by Dave H — 21 Oct 2010
Shallow and sometimes too shouty, also but dry, witty, farcical. Without Maurice Mickelwhite, his banter with Coward and the odd Benny Hill snigger it wouldn't amount to much. With them, and the minis, and and the Self Preservation Society, and Caine's delivery of two of the most classic lines from British cinema, it's a minor, if dated, classic.
