Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Ethan R — 30 Oct 2012
What a missed opportunity. Instead of a powerful story about the rise and fall of one of the few females in government, we get an extremely clunky film about dimensia with the political events placed in montages.
Maybe I misunderstood the point of the film, and mental illness is certainly great subject matter, but it should not come at the expense of telling a potent story. Streep however, made the movie worth watching for her seamless embodiment of the lady herself.
