Review of The Iron Lady (2011) by Erik J — 30 Aug 2012
Meryl Streep delivers a stellar performance. A pity it wasn't in a better movie. The film chooses to largely gloss over the historic accomplishments of Margaret Thatcher in favor of a portrait of her present struggle with dementia.
It is an adequate, well directed drama, with emphasis on the disorientation of age. However, it feels like a story that could have been told by any character and overlooks the potential that it had in this great figure.
