Review of The Insider (1999) by Steve G — 28 Nov 2012
It's hard to make a docu-drama feel compelling and interesting these days, yet, Michael Mann's The Insider gives us probably one of the most enthralling, smart thrillers to hit the screen in years.
Russel Crow gives the best performance of his career and with the help of Al Pacino both make a great duo. As well as the supporting cast of Christopher Plummer, Philip Baker Hall and others. The film is especially beautifully shot and the direction is solid.
There are scenes of just music that fill the screen with tension on what could happen that it really immerses you into the story until the very end. its hard to believe that with 7 Oscar nominations yet, no wins at all, yet this is one of the best movie of 1999.
