Review of The Insider (1999) by Adam R — 16 Aug 2017
Based on a true story that sounds like it would be more suited to a documentary, Michael Mann brings his slick style to the world of investigative journalism and the result is one the most riveting, exciting and edge-of-your-seat dramatic thrillers about news and whistle-blowing ever made.
The direction, cinematography and editing are truly masterfully done here, and with great performances from Pacino, Plummer and Crowe, 'The Insider' is the real deal that will thrill you from beginning to end, despite having a running time of over 2 1/2 hrs.
