Review of The Innkeepers (2011) by Matthew M — 22 Jun 2012
It's refresing to see such an atmospheric and tense horror film rather than a complete gore-fest these days, and although "The Innkeepers" doesn't deliver anymore than the traditional films it homages, West continues his brilliant streak with an effectively suspense-filled adventure.
The characterisation is superb, with a sweet charm that only West could achieve, and it gains kudos for keeping the gore level down and the tension level up; it's a slow builder, sure, but, if you manage to stay with it, you'll be rewarded tenfold.
