Review of The Inner Life of Martin Frost (2007) by Private U — 17 Jun 2008
I liked the central idea of the film as practiced by main character Martin Frost: don't overrationalize the choices you make; don't be afraid to make a leap of faith every once in a while. Too bad it was rather poorly executed.
Although the film has several nice scenes and some compelling dialogue, it is rather contrived on the whole. It generally abides by the rule: "take some nice shots, add some touching music to it and the rest will work itself out".
Well it won't. I'm not too sure about the choice of actors either. Kudos to Sophie Auster, though, for having such an astounding voice. I do want to see Auster's other films as I've been told they're way better.
