The Illusionist is a super depressing story. Without dialogue and drawn in a dingy stylized manner, the story of an old magician in a fast-paced entertainment world is a sad one. While the art style and everything about the movie is beautiful, thereâ(TM)s a charming longing to the movie, a poignant nostalgia, and an overall feeling of melancholy oldness.
