While this is the inspiration for many newer poolhall movies, the original leaves something to be desired. It's well acted, I guess. The story is just too slow. We all know what's going to happen.
Plus there is just too much down time between matches. It just didn't do it for me. I can appreciate the fact that it's a classic, but then again so is High Noon and that movie sucks. It's worth a viewing though.
