Probably would have been totally washed away by this if I saw it back in the days. By now, most of the story will sem familiar from 100 other movies and superb subtleties may be easy to miss.
It shows just how much dumber the modern moviegoer is, in constant need of clear explanations and definitions. Back then, viewers could read between the lines.
