That paul newman smile. the laid-back confidence. its perfect. a great cast telling an amazing story. newman, gleason and lauries performances were all well above the bar. such a tragic and wonderful story.
theres not a whole lot to say for rossens direction other than that he picked an excellent script. excellent film.
