Review of The Hustler (1961) by Patrick M — 31 May 2012
A true classic. While the story may move a little slow for some modern viewers, it does what very few modern movies do: develop deep, interesting characters. The best thing about this movie is that the characters never tell you explicitly how they are feeling, it is left up to the actors to portray those feelings and the viewer to interpret the performances.
With some actors this task may prove too much, but the all-star cast of The Hustler is certainly up for the job.
