Review of The Hurt Locker (2008) by William B — 13 Apr 2013
This is a war film for girls. I suspect the US military paid to get it the best picture award.... Seriously, it beat Avatar, WTF? Who wants to watch a war movie where the characters never shoot their weapons, then cry on the odd occasion that they actually do pull the trigger? War movies should leave you questioning how they manage to fit that many bullets in a magazine, not show a character trying to shoot and nothing coming out of the barrel.
There is a strong history of fantastic war films in Hollywood. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.
