Review of The Hurricane (1999) by Matt M — 11 Apr 2013
The true story of a boxer who was wrongly convicted in 1966 murder goes from being a powerful drama on racial conflict and injustice to a rushed and half hearted courtroom drama. This biopic doesn't seem to cover enough ground or do the story enough justice.
The screenplay is too disappointingly straight forward. Washington delivers a great performance.
