Review of The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) by Movie M — 31 Aug 2016
"The Huntsman: Winter's War" is a prequel and a sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman", and I actually have to go against the grain and say that it surprised me. I honestly had an enjoyable time with this movie.
Sure, it kept the same lack of pacing from the last movie, and didn't really have the absolute most interesting plot, but it was still mostly engaging and watchable. Chris Hemsworth takes on the lead in this movie as The Huntsman, and, obviously, considering he plays Thor, a role very similar to this, he did a good job.
Emily Blunt was also good as the Ice Queen, which is a role she isn't really used to playing, but I thought she did a really good job. The CGI was a bit below average, as some of the animals and shots could've been done better.
But in the end, "The Huntsman: Winter's War" surprised me, and I think is a movie that you either like, or hate, but personally, I'd say it is worth watching if you're bored.
