Review of The Hunt (2013) by Stellayy L — 22 Aug 2013
This is a real-life horror film where an innocent man's life unravels because of a malicious lie that gets out of control. Mads Mikkelsen is excellent as the mild mannered man who becomes increasingly frail yet unfailingly defiant as he is made into more of an outcast and victim.
My only problem is that it is a bit heavy-handed in ensuring things go as wrong as possible to the point where it's often riduculous - I sincerely hope Denmark is not that unprofessional with dealing with such things.
In fact I was so angry at this I almost stopped watching. Thankfully the film is a lot more watchable once it moves into the 2nd half of the film. A disturbing film and one that would make men think twice about working with children in a small community.
