Review of The Hunt (2013) by Anthony K — 04 Mar 2014
Oh my GOD talk about compelling viewing. Think Atonement meets Doubt, but manages to tell an even more universal story in the way that society can "burn" one of its own; once accused of a crime considered unforgivable, especially one as sensitive and which leaves as little real evidence as a life-sentence crime possibly can, how can that person possibly be redeemed? Mads Mikkelsen turns in possibly the best performance of the year, his face so expressive it can convey far more in it's details and micro expressions than the script can manage.
Infuriating and utterly substantial at once, this is easily one of the best films of 2013.
